I lovvee lipstick and I read up on tips on the proper way to apply, etc.but there are a couple things I can still use some advice about. the first thing is how do I avoid lipstick getting on my teeth? I do the finger in mouth thing but that doesn't always work. the second thing is how do I avoid getting that weird line around my lips after the lipstick has faded? I sometimes use lip pencil and fill it all in the way and then apply lipstick but I still get the weird line too. I heard of urban decays primer which I might invest my money in but are there any alternatives? thanks!!

Chew on some gum after applying lipstick, it will catch all the product that could get on your teeth :) as for the line issue, I'd like to know as well :P

I lightly fill in with pencil then take my finger and blend the pencil into my lip so it creates a real stain.
Then apply lipstick.

Another trick is to apply a layer of lipstick, blot lightly, then apply another layer.

Lastly you can apply a tiny bit of setting powder and blend that in- but I wouldn't unless you want really matte and dry lips.

Hope those work :)

Apply some vaseline. blot it. apply a layer of your fav lip colour then blot it. brush on loose powder and reapply. viola. the lines are gone.

I usually just do the finger pop to catch all the excess lipstick. It looks weird but it gets the job done. To prevent feathering I would suggest getting either a clear lip liner and lining the outside of your lip or just doing the same thing with concealer.

I use concealer or foundation on my lips first, then liner around the edges, then fill in with liner, then apply, blot, and reapply. The concealer prevents the liner from staining, and helps the lip color last longer without feathering.
