I'm a MUA but I keep getting told I should try out plus size modeling.
I'm short and on the smaller side but I'm not looking to do runway maybe commercial and I'll even stretch that into print.
Or just to help my MUA friends get some cool port pics.
I just wanted to know my options and tips about getting started. I'm used to the industry from the makeup side, I'm not so sure on the model end.
Any help would be awesome.
And in the end if it doesn't work out at least I get nice pictures of myself.

Aww, Jacqueline you are too sweet!
Honestly, I know much less about true commercial and print. For fairly accurate, but slightly harsh info on that I reccomend reading Newmodels.com. I know a lot about freelance modeling, which is an amazing option. I reccomend starting a modelmayhem page. You will find many photographers who will be willing to shoot you on a trade basis, and they will love love love that you are a MUA because that saves them from finding another person to trade with. Plus sided models are often pretty darn succesful on modelmayhem, because photographers have all different tastes. You are not likely to get print from MM, but often some fantastic other shoot options, mostly trade work. Good luck and if you have any other questions that I didn't cover, I'd be happy to answer them! :)

MM is a helpful site, but I'd suggest not using it until you've established yourself a bit.

Okay, in that case, I'm also going to suggest trying to figure out what angles and poses are going to work for you. Take some time in front of a mirror, or ask someone to snap a few cell phone shots from different angles to help figure out which ones are going to work the best for you! As well as looking at other plus sized models poses to see what they are doing with their body and why it works. The quicker you learn your body's angles, the more shoots you will be asked to do. It a highly valuble skill, and one that a lot of begining models don't learn for quite a while.
