I have a two part question that I need answered pretty quickly, please :)
1) I am paler than pale. NOTHING in the drugstore works for me. MAC NC15 (or NW15, I can't remember if it's a "C" or an "N") oxidizes and is way too dark for me. I finally caved and bought a Bobbi Brown foundation in Alabaster. The color match is PERFECT, but it breaks up around my nose/chin area, exposing pores and imperfections, which is what my Revlon Nearly Naked used to do. I didn't spend $47 on a foundation for it to perform like a drugstore one. With the Bobbi Brown, I think it's my method of application. I realllllly don't want to have to go on the hunt for another foundation color match because this color really is perfect, but I find that it doesn't work well with my beauty blender, and using my fingers (what I do now) seems to be what's causing it to break up around my nose. I do have oily skin, so I know that might be the cause of the product breaking down (though I never had any issues with that happening when I used my L'Oreal True Match foundation. Love that one but even the palest color is still too dark), but I use a primer and set the foundation with a powder and this still happens (even when I've just been driving to/from work). Is there anyone who has used this foundation? I LOVE the color match and the feel of it on my skin, but it breaking down around my nose is not cute. Help :)
2) IF alternative methods of applying this foundation don't stop it from breaking down, what does everyone think about the MUFE Mat Velvet + foundation in Alabaster? I've read both postive and negative reviews (and I know I can take it back to Sephora if I don't like it), but is this a similar color to the Bobbi Brown in Alabaster?

Have you tried the Bobbi brown stick foundation? I like that creamy consistency better and thought it did better with my pores.

I would say applying it with a stipplibg brush or maybe mixing it woth another foundation that matches your shade. if worse comes to worst you may have to return it even if it is the perfect shade...its not doing the job

I have been switching between the Smashbox primer (just the regular clear one) and the Becca Mattifying primer. Today, I used the NYX Pore Filler because I was in a hurry, so maybe that was the problem? I do dampen the beauty blender first and squeeze out the excess water- It has worked with all previous foundations, so I'm not quite sure why I can't get it with this one.

I had the same problem. Always broke down around my nose and chin. I started using skindinavia no more shine setting spray. Not only did it make my makeup last the entire day, it stopped the breaking down of makeup round my nose and kept the shine off my fave. Worked wonders for me.

Oil and water don't mix! Water based foundation and oily skin.., not a great mix! Tarte has very fair colors and they use amazon clay so it will work great for oil control throught the day. I also have oily skin and I use Smashbox CC cream and it works beautifuly especially with my stipling brush and Beauty Blender! It can be used in a variety of finishes also. I highly recommend!

Origins has a silk screen powder foundation that a girl I watch on YouTube uses. She's very, very pale and she uses the shade "Cloud." That may work for you or you could get a shade that's a bit darker if you arent quite that pale. Origins seems like a very nice brand. I haven't tried this stuff personally but it may be something to look into.
