Hair Color... Help Me!

So lastnight, I decided to be brave and color my hair by myself at home. MISTAKE!
I wanted somthing different so I was trying to take my hair from a really dark brown to a dark blonde-ish color.
I did everything correctly but when I woke up this morning my hair is really light at the roots and fades darker twords the tips, its about the same color as my natural color at the bottom. it goes, dark blonde-light brown-dark brown.. its looks HORRIBLE!
Am I safe to recolor it to a light brown or a brown/black? or will it still do the same thing? how long do I need to wait before re coloring the problem. hope you guys can help! I can't walk about like this!

I had a very similar issue when I tried to go blonde on my own a few years ago. I didn't even attempt to fix it myself. I called a salon, waited like 2 days, and they did a color correction. I wouldn't recommend trying to fix it yourself hun, wayy to risky.
