Hey Guys,
So here's the deal. I am originally from NYC and I was able to get away with Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer. BUT I have moved to Miami (and God know's it's hot out here) and I find that either my moisturizer (Clinique Moisturizer the yellow one) or the Laura Mercier, is making me look way too oily.
I have combo skin. I get rather dry on my nose and sides of my mouth but my forehead and cheeks get oily. And I am looking for a medium to full coverage foundation in both liquid and Powder (I set my makeup with powdered foundation most of the time). I just want a foundation that will hydrate my skin but control the oiliness. I usually buy high-end. Not trying to knock the drug store stuff... so if anyone knows of a good pairing of liquid and powder...throw your suggestions this way!!! MUCH LOVE xoxo

Illamasqua has a really nice foundation called rich liquid foundation that I use and adore, they have a new one that I have read amazing reviews on too that's called skin base. I can't recommend them enough. I also use their setting powder and another one I use alot it by kryolan. They have both made my foundation stay on for alot longer.. <3

I'm guessing its the Clinique moisturizer thats causing the problem. I use that too (Dramatically different moisturizing gel) and it does make me more oily, so i use it during the winter time only when my skin gets dry. In hot/humid weather, use an oil free moisturizer, preferably a mattifying moisturizer. Thats what i do.

Have you tried any of the Urban Decay setting sprays? All Nighter is great for keeping makeup put when you are sweaty, and people with oily skin swear by DeSlick. You can get a sample at Sephora for $12, so you don't have to commit. I love All Nighter. Keeps my makeup perfect out in NYC August heat and humidity. I'm sure Miami is worse, but you know how gross the city gets in August.

All by MUFE - HD Foundation with either Duo Mat to set or Loose Setting Powder to set. Great coverage, great finish, long wearing, doesn't feel heavy and won't make you feel dry.

hey Ladies, thanks for the input first of all. My skincare regimen is all over the place to be honest I am still trying to figure out what works for me since I get this weird kind of acne that is more like painful bumps that flare up rather than real acne that you pop and disappears ( I think a visit to the derm is long overdue). But in a nutshell I usually cleanse with Neutrogena wipes, wash my face with the Philosophy soap, then I apply clinique Dramatically Different Lotion (with the oil) then their rich eye cream. I opt to wear either Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer and set w HD setting powder from MUFE.
I bought Urban Decay's Naked Skin Foundation alongside the Dr. Murad SPF 15 mattifying Moisturizer and it got rid of the excess oiliness but for some reason I have this tight feeling on my skin from that moisturizer, perhaps it is not hydrating enough? Other than that I am quite pleased with the combination.

If your skin feels tight then yes, it's not getting enough moisture. Try mixing the dr murad w a little of the Clinique.
