No relaxer, oils, don't overshampoo, condition a lot, no mousse or gel, no heat, vitamins and biotin, drink a lot of water, take care of it. there are a lot of beauty videos, blogs and sites to help (hairlista.com I think)

If you do wear it natural also take time to keep it in protective styles to prevent any extra breakage. And keep the ends healthy so they aren't subjected to splitting. Scalp massaging also promotes hair growth.

I don't see the problem with a little bit , especially if its light hold. I use some to hold my curls so they don't completely frizz out. Ecostyler works for me.

I think it's great and other curlies on YouTube use it as well , plus it's very affordable.

I only suggested no gel because it can be very drying. you can try and find a more natural or not drying one, no problem!:)

Some gels have harsh alcohols in them. It'd be better to get a hair lotion or a styling cream.

HI!
I'm Black and Puerto Rican. I went natural again Dec 2011. Its been a pretty easy journey. You want to find products that work for your hair. I've found that Shea Moisture products keep my hair the most moisturized. Keeping your hair moisturized is the key to keep your hair from breaking off. I haven't used many protective hairstyles. The less I do to my hair the more I see it grow. I've only used heat maybe twice to see my growth. I used a heat protector and I used low heat. And co-washing (conditioner washing) a couple times a week has helped me retain moisture between my weekly deep conditioning. I hope that helped and good luck in you journey!

Oh I found that a little bit of Eco Styler Olive Oil gel doesn't harm my hair. Just don't drench your hair in it!
