So coming from personal experience (I also have a round face with long hair) I would suggest if you want to go short, don't go too short around the face. You want long layers framing the face so that it elongates it more. When I cut my hair too short it made my face look extreeeemely round. I would suggest looking up celebrities with round faces such as Cameron Diaz who has worn many short styles. Good luck :)

Mixed-length layers look great on people who have a round face. Angled bangs, head fringe, and side swept bangs would also look great. :) I go to Vogue, so you can count on my advice.
