That's why I love LUSH. I'm proud to work for a company that activly campaigns against animal testing :) all lush products are tested on human volunteers.

I get that sometimes there might not be anything else to test on, but if there testing unnecessary things such as make up then yes it is wrong. Animal testing is wrong period but I feel better about it if its vital for our everyday life.

And I don't see how done of you are cashing it hypocritical for people to not like animal testing yet eat animal. I'm pretty sure that's needed to survive, why else would it have originally been on earth. I probably can't speak for every company in the you.s but I'm pretty sure animals don't get tortured to death so we can eat them. Do you know what treating does to animals? Cuz its ashore worse then just killing them. I don't see why an animal I'd any lower then a human on that aspect of life Becuz they feel pain just as we do. Is not right for us to be above testing things on ourselves yet hurting something innocent to make something WE as humans use safe.

Gabrielle has a good point. I eat meat and other animal foods as well. you can buy free range, organic and grass fed. cooked meat is the reason why humans have evolved. the protein increased our brain mass and pushed us to the top of the food chain. I am an active volunteer at best friends animal shelter, the biggest most reputable in the nation btw, and no I don't consider myself a hypocrite. I would kill an animal to survive.

Indeed lynzie lol :) but then you'd have the clone cruelty issue instead of the animal cruelty issue...some topics will always have a double edged sword. people have mentioned things where animal testing has helped cure types of cancer and other diseases. but then there's stray pets and other small creatures being skinned alive for their fur and thrown in heaps to die if the skinning didn't already kill them :(

Haeri K. that would be creating human rights violations to test on criminals and there are some folks trapped in prison who are innocent. Not cool either. :(

The truth is if testing were done on humans it would be a quicker success rate and 5 times better research, also 85% of the research if done on humans would be minimal / non threatening or invasive, opposed to what it does to >5 lb animals. the major reason of animal testing and not human testing is, cha ching!! money! you don't have to pay animals to test on them. testing on animals also takes the research process 3 times longer because believe it or not there's a big difference in our make up, which could make a huge difference in medical research. and is it not more humane to test on humans? absolutely, we have the power to decide if we want to and would be compensated. like everything else in the world it comes down to money.

And I can't believe how much people write on here that makes no sense and is just plain untrue. stop writing anything if your not sure what your writing! oh, and 12% of the 15 that can't be tested on humans is because it is animal products; food, medicine ect. and those that are saying because we are pro animal rights means we are AGAINST a cure for aids and cancer. we are hypocrites because of races or food dig seeding!?! there is a much higher success rate for human testing for the research we just wanna do it. and not all animal racing or food is Inhuman. big difference in animals in a test cage being tortured and killed than those.

Gabrielle's right Animal testing the animals slowly die, are mistreated, and are scared everyday until they die. God didn't intend for us to do that. He DID intend for us to eat meat. For its an essential. Cosmetics and other things aren't essentials.
