If you want to bleach out your hair without drying or damaging it, mix peroxide and baking soda and leave it in for about 30 minutes or more, depending on how blonde you want it. I do it and it works :) just mix it til it's kinda sandy, rub it in your hair, let it sit then wash it out. Be sure to use apple cider vinegar on your ends after words to keep it from drying

I don't do my own because I have an amazing stylist and feel more comfortable with her expertise and skill. There is some great info on lightening in the forum thread I posted. Good luck! :)
