Volumizing powder and a teasing comb! Your hair is probably just to smooth and there isn't enough for the clips to hold to. Give it a try! :)

The other option I've learned is where ever you are place each clip put that spot of hair in a little ponytail with a rubber band n clip above the rubber band. I would only recommend this in the most slippery areas. And if you know your in for a crazy night of a lot of hair moving.

I'm a cosmetologist and I've always twisted my hair at the root before closing the clip. never had a problem with slipping with that trick.
