Hair Stylists! I need help!

So I have a hair appointment in about 10 days. My hair is highlighted and pretty blonde. I want to go darker, but still have a summery look (like the pics). I want to save money and time so I was wondering if it would be a bad idea to do a darker color myself as a base, then just have my stylist add highlights? If so, what colors?? any ideas?? Thanks :)

If you do it go to sallys and get the color. I'd do a 6 or 7 m... which is mocha its a warmer brown. and then get highlights. but do a demi color.

Their brand Ion is actually really nice. I use it when I'm doing friends hair outside the salon. Plus, the people that work there will be able to offer you advice on what color to pick and such. Just don't do a box. Plenty could go wrong there.

If you color it all over, your stylist is going to have to reprocess your hair and further damage. If you have her do she won't be damaging the blonde you already have and putting the darker around it.

Just have your stylist add it lots of lowlights with a light brown color!

Thanks guys, taking your advice and just leaving it to my stylist! I don't want to deal with extra damaged hair, especially since I live in Colorado and its dry already! I really appreciate all of you replying!
