Since I am new to the makeup world I have heard that a woman needs a foundation for the summer and another for the winter. is this true or false? is it necessary?
thanks in advance for replying.

I think so. I like a Liquid in the summer that is thin and light and a cream foundation in the summer. Also bbs are nice in summer or I add a little oil to a winter foundation to add sheerness and a dewy finish

True! For me I need two shades because I easily tan and on top I try using a lightweight foundation during the summer.

It's true or false depending on the person. I use the same foundation in summer and winter, but in the summer I need to use a primer and a setting powder because my face gets really oily.

True! In the summer I get about two shades darker and my red undertones come out. In the winter you can see me yellow undertones more.

Yea like for the summer you need something like a bb cream something that doesn't feel heavy because then it loooks cakey especially in the summer when you sweat a lot. In the winter I guess it doesn't really matter what you use just something not too heavy.

I find truth in that statement! I like a light foundation or tinted moisturizer during the summer and a little more full coverage during the winter! :)

I think depends on what you like n your skin type some people have different skin in summer than in winter some people get more tan in summer and also more oily/sweaty in summer and others maybe have dry skin in winter and more pale but if your skin is exactly the same in summer and winter its not rly necessary but its up to you n whatever works best for you.

I've been using cover girl oil and shine control powder and foundation. seems ok this far. I'd like to try a decent bb cream that won't cause a breakout on me. I tried Maybelline in deep something but it made me more oily...eww.
any recommendations bb cream I can try for oily tzone that's not too expensive.
thanks ladies.

I live in Florida and we have only hot (summer) and cold (winter). And I've noticed that my skin favors liquid in winter and bb in the summer. As far as skintone alters just a little bit in the winter but not enough for me to get a lighter shade.

I think it depends on your particular skin type. I have extremely dry skin, and I protect from the sun religiously, so I use the same products year-round. Most of my girlfriends change it up depending on the season, however, to account for temperature and its effect on the skin as well as color changes in the warmer months.

In the summer time, primer, oil-free foundation, transclucent powder, blotting papers, all needed. In the winter time, my skin needs heavier moisturizer but lighter foundation will do.
