For a simple everyday look I would wear it with white shorts, flip flops, hair either straight down or up in a bun, light makeup with a touch of light blue eyeshadow

I would say dark wash blue shorts. With rips and some white sandals. Very plain but I think you look great. And I like the messy bun with that Idea.
