I have dark brown hair and I was thinking of dip dying the ends or putting a streak in it. I've heard of splat hair dye but I still need to know some things. How long will it last if I don't bleach it? Will it do any damage to my hair? Does the color show up well?/ what color are good in darker hair? If any of you have ever used this and can answer my questions I would appreciate it. Thanks! 😘

I've used the dye 3 different times. Me and my friend she has brown hair not very dark tried it without bleaching and you couldn't even see it, if you want the color payoff you'd need to bleach. Hers lasted a few weeks and then faded. Dipdying won't really damage because when it fades you can just cut off the dyed tips but a streak will leave a part in your hair bleached after it fades.

If you want it bright you have to bleach it first. If you don't it will be a small tint. I have used splat and manic panic and I prefer manic panic or ion brilliance brights with can be purchased at Sally beauty. Splat manic panic etc.are not harmful to your hair because they are semi permanent only the bleach does damage. You have to pick a really bright color if you want it to show up on your hair but I recommend you bleach it and it will last a month or so depending on how much you shampoo swim etc.and try not to get your hair wet in pool water bc it will bleed.

I've used the red and turquoise Splat colors, and they faded really quickly, so I kept having do dye it again. That killed my hair. Also, I would suggest getting either a hair toner or something that will strip the color along with the bleach. Having dark brown hair, the bleach might leave it a really ugly orange color. Best of luck! Hope you have a better experience with it if you decide to go for it. xxx

DON't USE IT. IT FADES SO QUICKLY. EVEN WHEN YOU BLEACH IT.

I recommend useing manic panic , try leaning toward darker colors, their darker colors on brown hair look really bright, if you want it to last even longer use manic panic amplified :)

You could just use the splat hair chalk, so it's temporary and you can wash it out anytime.

Another option if you want something that can be removed easily and won't damage your hair is just to grab a couple clip in extensions from Sally in the color you want. I believe they're around $3 a piece, then you can also switch out the colors whenever you want! Just a suggestion :)

ABSOLUTELY do NOT use the splat bleach! it is the worst thing freaking ever. I have put the purple over my brown, and it showed up the way I wanted it. it does fade kinda fast. I think it mainly depends on hair texture and stuff.

To get the right color, you will have to bleach the part you are dying. I used pink once in my blonde hair and it was great and lasted about 3 months. If you have dark hair, I would do sort of an electric blue color.

My hair is a dark brown and the bleach is the best bleach ever in my opinion. did my hair pink and I only touched it up once and it's still a pretty pink. Any dye/bleaching is going to be damaging but as long as you care for your hair it should be fine. I loooove Splat hair dye.

@caiti, their bleach is the most damaging, I would never use it again. that with the toner is a super no-no.
