I understand most advertisements use fake lashes with the mascara just to exaggerate it, but can I get a similar look with just a really great drugstore mascara?

What I would do is use a little plain Vaseline on my lashes then use my regular mascara. The Vaseline will help make your lashes look longer and fuller

Go to sephora or Mac (sephora has more options as in brands, but I personally like Mac more) and ask for the mascara that will make your lashes fuller and longer or just bigger. If you go to one of these stores you might be paying more as in 20 or 30 dollars but I promise it's worth it and it lasts long! Also you could go to sephora or macs websites and read reviews on which ones are the best! Hope this helped.

One coat Covergirl clump crusher ($6) for Separation, one cat Loreal Voluminous ($8) for Volume, and Maybelline Rocket or Falsies Flared ($6-$7) for Length.
I use this combo everyday (except the last step I use Benefit $35 mascara, but you asked for drugstore)
