Ok ladies, I am on my 3rd attempt to find a good beauty school.. I've been to The Paul Mitchell school in Portland Oregon, and a small beauty school after that. I desperately want to go back and finish.. Does anyone know a good beauty school with a really good makeup coarse? looking in Oregon or possibly California. Thanks :)

Oh I'm sorry that stinks! aveda was amazing and they really do want to teach you and make sure you learn/ try everything! And once you master their color line every other brand will be easy! If you have any specific questions about aveda feel free to ask(:

Look into community colleges. they should have a make up class for the theater kids too. I went to a cc in orange county and I loved it.

I hear that aveda forces you to learn all aspects of the beauty world(makeup, hair, nails, massage) Do you guys know if thats true?

Avedas cosmo program mainly focuses on hair but you do also learn make-up, manicures, pedicures, acrylic nails, and skin care! The only massage you learn is a scalp and hand massage.

A cosmo license also covers all of those areas audra. massage isnt a huge part of it, but it is included in some services like manis and pedis and scalp massages with shampoos but nothing like body massage.

Hmm maybe its just the school by me. its a douglas j and my friend told me this who went there. she had to learn body masks/wraps and everything. I want to go to beauty school but I can't do my own nails to save my life. I have to have my boyfriend do it! lol I work too much with my hands so polish doesn't even last an afternoon plus the polish gets caught on my hair when I'm showering (no matter if I use a base and clear coats)

We spent like a week on nails out of the whole year, and we didn't do acrylics on clients. And it was only 1 or 2 days every month that we would have to take mani/ pedi clients and those were always easy days!
