You can use a wand to get nice waves. Just take a small amount if hair, wrap it and hold it for about 3 seconds. When youre all done just shake it out and add some hair spray. I have a picture up that shows the end result :)

Shelby. I've tried not your mother's beach wave. wasn't exactly thrilled with the product. but I agree a wand might help.
