Well a lot of people say that when your hair is in a pony tale grows faster maybe it grows faster with a braid too.

I don't think it's so much about the braids but maybe avoiding heat styling?

Yeah the braiding at night works. But make sure it isn't a really tight braid!! That will just pull on your hairs and you won't make any progress.

That's what I am trying every night (3rd night) and I hear that it's supposed to help. Even though I haven't seen any results yet (because its only 3 days), I HAVE seen my hair become more soft because the braid locks in moisture! :)

Nothing helps to grow your hair faster only time.

When your hair is braided it stops breakage, letting your hair grow. 😄

I really think that maybe it does! when I was little my mom always used to braid my hair and later on I always was with ponytails and for all this time my hair grew like crazy!! and a couple of years ago I stopped and my hair stays the same length.. I need to check this for myself :)

It's not necessarily the braid, It's keeping your hair from getting damaged as much as possible. keeping it in a wrap would have the same effect, and mah even work better for when you sleep.

Well if your hair breaks off easily, it can help and not help you at the same time.

Its true bc the braid pulls tension on your scalp stimulating it to grow. I cornrow my hair and leave them in for as long as I can until they start to loosen up and my hair grows up to an inch everytime I do it.

From personal experiance braiding helps. its not a dramatic change but its noticible.
