Olive oil worked for me after a color correction which totally dried out my hair. I have medium length hair and put 2 tablespoons in, rubbed it in like shampoo and let it soak for 30 mins, then just washed out as usual. I did this once a week for a month and seemed to help heal it.

Hi I'm a cosmetologist! coconut oils, avocados, olive oil, honey, eggs, even mayonnaise can be used as a deep conditioner.
slather it on your hair, concentrate most on the areas that are the driest. wrap your hair in plastic wrap or foil (I like plastic wrap best) and then cover with a towel or an old hijab maybe. leave it on for at least 20 mins and then wash your hair as normal. the heat from your head will be concentrated to your hair by the wraps and allow the mixture to penetrate deeper. you could mix any of the ingredients I mentioned together or use them on their own. the ones I'd recommend as best is actually the mayo, its a combo of oil and egg whites which will give your hair more strength, shine, and moisture. adding some vanilla extract will make it smell better too.

One HUGE tip I have is whatever type of oil you use when washing out put the shampoo in your hair before ever getting it wet. I tried coconut soaks several times and it always came out sooo greasy, until I tried this tip.
