Okay ladies, my hairdresser made me an appointment for a spiral perm on August 7. NOT an 80s style perm. Lol. She told me to deep condition and detangle every day until then and recommends I use a Paul Mitchell or Bedhead deep conditioner.
My question is how do I use a deep conditioner? And what products do you recommend for after I get the perm?
I'm also coloring my hair tonight because she said I should do it two weeks in advance. I'm super excited! Thanks for anyone that helps. :D

Most deep conditioners you just use after shampooing when your hair is style wet. You leave it on for a few minutes then rinse. You can always look on the back of the bottled as well on how to use it.

The perm will strip your color so ull have to get it touched up or ull look like a zebra lol trust me I learned the hard way I looked like a blonde and black zebra haha its fixable you just have to wait like a week but absolutely NO bleach! if you have any bleach on your hair the perm will fry your hair and it will stretch and break!

A deep conditioner should be left on however the manufacturer says, bonus if you through a plastic bag over your head during! The heat from your scalp will open up the cuticle and allow better absorption.
I too have a perm, my favorite products are
- curly sexy hair curl activator spray
-curly sexy hair curl cream
-Paul Mitchell "twist around"
-Paul Mitchell beach wave gel
- Paul Mitchell fast form
- Bed head lemon prepping meringue
- Original Moroccan oil
- Chi Keratin Silk Infusion
-Biolage fiberstrong
(Caution, us hairdressers love lots of products)
The perm will strip out your color, we use a "color safe" formula one mine and it does take a bit less out than a normal formula, but nonetheless. Wait until 2 weeks after to color.

That depends on your natural color, type of color used, and shade of color used. Girl don't worry, it's only two weeks, and I've never seen any color look "bad" after I perm them, it normally just lightens it a bit, or it could bring out the undertones but I've only seen that on reds.

Okay. I guess it won't be too bad. I'm excited, but just the same amount of nervous too. Lol.

Don't be nervous! I don't know about your hairdresser, but if someone comes in with color for a perm, I try to paint the best mental picture I can as to what their color will look like when alls said and done. Ask your stylist before she rolls a single rod if you're still nervous on the day of ;)
