Make sure you fill out your description with as much info as possible and include words and phrases within what you write that you think will be searched a lot (as long as they're relevant). Make sure your thumbnails are the best they can be (easier once you're a partner but try to pick the best of the 3 YouTube picks out for you). Make use of tags, use as many relevant tags for your video that you can. Make sure there is a link to your channel on your other social networking sites. Post links to your channel or videos when appropriate, but don't over do it. People get annoyed if you post your link everywhere for no reason and constantly ask people to check out your channel. Plus it won't bring you loyal subscribers because they will not subscribe for the right reasons - chances are they're doing it to be polite or so that you'll subscribe back.
Join in with discussions relating to what your videos are about and only give your link if you think it could help that person.
To be honest, the best thing you can do is post good content - I'm sorry there's no magical way of getting popular other than that. Also make sure your content on other social networks is good because then people will be excited that you have a YouTube channel. For example I have quite a few followers on here and Instagram and my link is always in my profile so anyone who is genuinely interested in what I do will check it out and I'd rather have 10 loyal followers than 100 that have only subscribed cos I asked them to.
It's fair enough to post when you make a new video but try to avoid doing posts like this too often.
Hope you do well :)

You can also comment on other people's videos, but not spam comments telling them to check out your channel, but actual meaningful comments.
