My hair feels so dry which us making it flakey and it itchy. I've heard oil treatments are good but any ideas which ones work best and the best way to use them?

That happened to me too. I changed my shampoo and it worked but I don't know anything about oil treatments, goodluck!

Jojoba oil treatment once a week works great and I had to change my shampoo to sulfate free.

Try sulfate free shampoo first because regular shampoos can cause scalp irritation. If that doesn't help, see a dermatologist. They will diagnose you with sebboretic (sp?) dermatitis, dandruff, shingles, whatever it may be. They will prescribe you a serum and or shampoo to use which should help a lot.

Do you wash your hair every day?

Sarah v try not to wash it too often as I heard it's not good for your hair, I'd say 2-3 times a week. Plus my shampoo isn't too harsh. It's the honey one by herbal essence.

Put some drops of eucalyptus oil in your shampoo. It cost like 4$ in drugstores and it's MAGICAL! You will feel the difference after the first application.

If you wash 2-3 times a week, make sure you shampoo twice on days you wash your hair. I had the same problem and it turns out my hair simply wasn't getting clean enough!!

Shumi, sounds to me that we have similar issues. I highly recommend sulfate free shampoo/conditioner like Jessie B. recommended. Also, I've had success with HairOne Cleansing Conditioner from Sally Beauty. Everyone raves about Wen - but this is a fraction of the price and works amazingly well. Follow the directions on the bottle and your scalp will thank you for it. The other product I've found that works well is Paul Mitchell's Hair & Scalp Treatment. If you can't find that - Sally Beauty has a comparable one in their 'Generic' line. I've found that oils on the scalp (for me) don't work at all - just create a grease pit even though I'm naturally dry. Good luck Shumi!!
