You should look up some room diy's on youtube, get sheets and blankets that match your fav color, also you should have one wall dedicated to memories. but don't fill it up just yet, you want to fill up as you get older.

When I moved in to my house I did like subtle casual laid back look my color scheme is blue and white I have antique looking lamps I have like a beach sand dollor chandelier thing so it goes with anything without looking odd.
