I personally like pencil because I think you have better control but I have learned that some eyeliner brand suck in the first place. I use eyeliner from Kmart, I know it's cheap but it works, I'm pretty sure it's called wet 'n wild.

I've tried maybelline, loreal, wet n wild and essence gel liner and essence is by far my favorite ^.^ I also like liquid. I think it depend on how sharp or soft you want your liner to look. Pencil or soft looking liner, liquid for sharp looking liner, and with gel you can do either 😉
