My hair is 3b-3c curly. I bleached it, and it didn't workout well at all. So we dyed it back to brown, but we had to cut off about 2-4 inches. It used to be 2 inches past my shoulders, and because my hair dresser cut it while it was wet, it scrunched up just below my chin (sorry if this is long but I really need help!) and after that I've been straightening it a lot. Then summer came, and I stopped, I take biotin and cowash and do deep conditioning. And it's about an inch above my shoulders. But I'm not happy with it at all. And I wanted to know...if anybody with curly hair had tried a beachy wave chemical treatment? If it lessened the curls, or made them tighter? And also, if you straighten your roots (yes I know harsh) with that loosen the curl pattern? Thanks :)

Yes. Hear and dye will loosen your curl pattern. The only thing you can do it to cut off and let your new hair grow in its place. It could go slightly back, but it's damaged, so it won't go completely back.

I'm a curly top myself and what Shannon says is on point. You have to wait for new growth to come in before you will see your original hair pattern. Definitely stay away from anymore chemical hair treatments. And stay away from heat. I suggest treating your hair with TLC...deep conditioning treatments and continue with your biotin treatment. Straightening at the roots is not a good thing and will only defeat the goal of trying to grow your hair out...I speak from past experience.

If you straighten your roots that will loosen the curl pattern...straightening it in general does. I swear by the curly method and be patient your curls will bounce back after tons of TLC.
