Liz Taylor was favors for her violet tinged eyes. What happens is that more blood vessels are visible in the iris and when you have blue eyes and that happens they look violet.

You'll have to play with clothing, as its the light + what you're wearing that's going to effect it. My boyfriend has green/brown eyes. They are more green all depending on what color they wear but can also be hazel if he wears browns, reds, etc. Then some days it's a mix of both. Just try and play with the clothes in your closet and see what happens.
