Hi so I'm a lifeguard at my local pool and I have to go in the pool to swim laps 4 times a week. What should I to my hair so it isn't dead and messy from the chlorine? And how should I style my hair at night and at work to prevent damage? (My hair is short ish. Shoulder length)

Leave conditioner in over night as much as possible! And I'd use a DIY olive oil hair mask once a week!

You can always braid your hair up as well, along with what Nicci said :)

I like to put gel/hairspray in my hair! It helps make it stay curly and less frizzy. And then the next day, if you havent washed your hair, its just as curly but doesn't look crunchy so it's good to do for "second day" looks!

Hey Kat :) I feel for youu! I was a competitive swimmer for 14 years and did swim coaching for 4. I've always had long blond thick hair. The chlorine really can take a toll on your hair :/ but fortunately there are shampoos and conditioners out there which are specifically for those who are in contact w chlorine often. They help rid the chemical from your locks and rid discoloration:) as well, I recommend using a leaveIn conditioner or spray that has UVA protection. French braids and high buns will do the trick. Possibly try wearing a hat when possible :) best of luck!

Wash out as soon as you get out of work! Condition like no tomorrow and then braid or twist it to keep it tangle fee!

Try Ion shampoo and conditioner for swimmers they are available at sally's beauty supply. And use a treatment mask twice a week.
