Is there really a difference between the $20 and $100 flat irons? If so, what's better about them?

I love my Remington one. I got it from target and its 2inches I think and it's purple. I think it was in the $20-30 range.

The 20 dollar flat iron, I hate it. Because I would straighten my hair and then it would get frizzy after an hour or two. But when I finally invested in an expensive flat iron, specifically called Croc. My hair was straight all day, my hair was shiny, heats up very fast and not to mention makes beautiful curls. I love it! A cheap flat iron doesn't cut it for my thick hair.
