You can't go from black to red without bleaching your hair or using hard chemicals it will only give you a lil reddish/brownish glow in the dark & I think loreal is a semi permanent color (it washes out ) so yea deff. bleach it.

Hmm did you use 2 color tubes? And did you mix it with oreor's 30 or 40 developer? My friend uses these to go red and it definitely sticks.

Maybe you're not leaving it long enough? Did you mix the 2 color tubes with 5 Oz of developer and leave it on from 25 to 30 mns?

You can't lift that many levels with haircolor. Even high lift color. If you went to cosmetology school you should know that. Tint doesn't lift tint. Only bleach does.
