What's the worlds view on dreads? Should I dread my hair?

I personally think dreads can look good on the right person. White, black, anybody. Just make sure your hair is long enough. If you don't want all of your hair dreaded, you can always make a couple dreads in your hair in the back to see how you like it first. I've never had them, but a lot of my friends have.

Dreads are actually very elegant if maintained properly, but the upkeep and process of getting them done is pretty pricey.

They can either come out dirty looking or very nice if taken care right so think wisely if you have the time to maintain them.

I wouldn't do it because you can't wash your hair when you have dreads. I've done fake dreads before (which takes too much time) but it looks that same. And it washes out.

@Kenzie that's actually the most common misconception of dreads. They can be washed you just probably shouldn't attempt to do it yourself because its hard to keep from untwisting the dreads while washing them. Climatologists are taught how to wash dreads properly without scrubbing the scalp too hard and for a hefty price compared to a regular wash.
