Is all the hype about this true? I'd like to try it out but I'm a bit skeptical over the negative reviews of the product :( anyone suggest this product?

I personally like it for dry hair. When I come outta the shower just rub a little bit in the tips while damp. I find it works well.

Seems like I might try coconut oil instead, I'm terrified of spending so much money on a product that might not work for me!

Does it really absorb into the skin or sit on top of the skin??

Hey Abby! I have the Josie Marian bronzing argan oil (it's the same just with some color in it) and honestly I was pretty disappointed with it. I spent more than 40 bucks on it. First off, I don't like the glass bottle as it can break easily and the applicator is so so messy! It's a glass dropper and the product has leaked out and made the bottle all greasy. As for the actual performance of the product, it really disappointed me :/ it felt like it literally just sat on my skin and didnt sink in (yes I do exfoliate and am aware of reasons why any product may not absorb into the skin) and it didnt really do anything it said it would aside from the bronzing aspect. An 8 dollar tub of coconut oil or jojoba is much better and worth the price!

I mix it with leave in conditioner, use it on my cuticles, add a drop to lotion and apply to heels, put in my foundation, use it as highlighter by adding white satin shadow. There are tons of ways to use it. The reason why it's such a big deal is when Josie goes to collect the oil the natives cold press the seeds only once and get the most pure oil where other companies will press multiple times therefore squeezing some imperfections into their oil as well. Just a little FYI 😊

I like the tips! If it doesn't work for me as a mosturizer, then there's other ways I could use it :)

I have some and honestly, I neglect it... I find it to be mediocre compared to other brands and home remedies. I was most interested in using it for my hair, not really my skin, so I don't have any other recommendations for skin purposes. But as far as hair goes, coconut oil masks and "it's a 10" leave-in conditioners are my go-to products. I also found that I preferred a cheaper brand argan oil from Sally's to the Josie Maran I have!
