My skin or foundation?

I'm not sure if I'm using the wrong foundation for my skin type. I think I have combination skin type. My nose and chin looks cakey after my foundation sets. Its embarrassing!
I use Make Up Forever HD primer. Then I use Make Up Forever HD foundation. I use my Sigma brush # F60. Afterwards I use Make Up Forever HD powder. I use the mini HD Kabuki brush.
I have big pores on my face. The foundation seems to seep into my pores on my nose and chin.
Am I doing something wrong? missing an important step? I'd like to post a pic of my concern issue. I'm in need of the utmost honesty in my wrong doing. Help me out beauties, please!

I would use a face primer.Try philosophy clear mkup.Maybe those products dnt suit your skin.Maybe use your fingers for foundation if you use powder use a buff pad n pat it on your face. That's my idea anyways.

I used Make up forever primer before I used foundation. I will most defiantly give your options a try. Thank you Lolli. I appreciate your feedback.  :)

My skin is kind of the same. You may need to try a different primer.. Maybe less powder.. Or try and treat the areas of dryness first.

Hi Janelle. I used E.L.F primer before. It was the same outcome. So, maybe use primer just not on my chin and nose? Thanks Janelle. Your input is appreciated.  :)

Jacqueline gave GREAT tips!! I would recommend the Too Faced Primer as well (I just bought it a few days ago.. So far so good) and I use a setting spray also. I'm currently using ELF's mineral mist. I also used an ELF primer.. Can't remember the exact name but it was in a white bottle and came out clear. I don't think not putting primer on your face will help if you don't treat the dry areas first. Like Jacqueline said, the key is a properly pressed face :) I'm still having issues with my dry spots, but from prepping my face better before applying makeup, I see a big difference.
