I think the point isn't that they hate people giving their opinions. The point of asking for opinions is to make that look the very best it can possibly be - constructive criticism. The point is not to give opinions that you don't like that style of makeup and try to change what makes it fundamentally alternative (or goth, or whatever the given look is). So if someone posts a goth look and asks for opinions, saying "you should have more natural brows/eye shadow/lip color/whatever" is not constructive.

It's just my personal opinion. I love more natural looking makeup because I think that makeup should just be to enhance people's natural beauty but if you love dark makeup go for it. If you love it thats all that matters! :)

I don't like gothic look. I have seen very few people to pull that off without looking totally ridiculous. Thats is just my opinion. All the same I also don't answer to posts I don't like so much. My I don't like won't give you anything. You will get anyway positive feedbak from people your kind. Also consider now its so in nudes and no make up make up etc, and people follow trends. I'm sure its nothing personal. Everyone has right to be as they are!

Also I have to add, most looks like this I have seen look just dirty. They draw on racoon eyes and think its cool and their style. Thats is totally ok, but do it beautifully! Blend, line lips etc. I have seen beautiful
Goths with amazing make up. Note that I'm not referring to anyone particular here but this is what I generaly see on street. Smeared, patches... Its not very nice an wouldnt be also with light make up.

Kardi, your post cracked me up. gig.
angel, I, myself am alternative but this is for beauty trends. TRENDS. and much of the alternative styles are not on trend to society, hence the term ALTERNATIVE. if you are offended by peoples remarks on here and truly believe it is beautiful than there should be no offense taken. that is the point of theses threads, to seek advice and post opinions.

I don't hate the dark makeup, but I do associate it with scary things, and so I tend to stick with the more "uplifting" looks. Bright faces look cheerful and youthful to me. Just my opinion.

You can do dark brows, but you have to do it the right way.

If ladies are posting their makeup looks with the caption "what do you think / opinions / criticism" and they get what they are asking for, then what is the problem? some of us don't like a harsh, dark lip or full eyebrows...if opinions are solicited, then they will be given.

I always thought it was so weird that a friend of mine told me 'you can't wear grey nail polish in summer' I was honestly taken a back. I think everyone should be able to wear whatever style they like ( as long as its done well) ;)

You never want to fit in with other people as far as your taste goes. That's what makes you unique. If you want to wear bold lips and bold eyebrows in the summer, I say go for it! I personally think it's more sexy than a neutral look (especially on a fair skinned woman).
