Summer is slowly approaching and I've been thinking about starting to get bikini waxes๐. Is there anything I should know. Like Do's and Donts perhaps.

Before you even go..pick up some Bikini Zone, exfoliating scrub, and The Cool Fix. This is too disinfect..soothe..and ward off any ingrown hairs. Do not exercise or walk about/work up a sweat til the next day. When you 1st shower...rinse the area with cool water. If you normally don't, be sure to air your business out when you sleep that evening. Apply the bikini zone as soon as you get home...before bed and the next day. 48 hours later...exfoliate well (and regularly) and apply the soothing and moisturizing Cool Fix. Ulta carries it.

P.s. My Spa has a fan licensed Esty and pain is minimal because she's experienced and distracts me with small talk and this thing she does with her hand after removing the strips..lol

I'm going to say a 3 because it lasts but a moment then *poof* GONE. So there is no lingering or throbbing. I'm also now accustomed to it so I'm sure it varies for peeps. The application doesn't hurt me one bit so that would be my removal rating. Immediately after tearing the strip, she puts her hand on the exact spot and for some reason..it is calming. She's very good with telling funny stories or yapping about a favorite restaurant or TV show..asking me questions. A+ for distractions!

Oh!! And be sure they don't evah double dip. Every application should be with a brand new stick for sanitary purposes.

...and make sure it is a private room. She shouldn't have her cell phone on or b.s. like that. My friend ended up in a double room with just a curtain and some chick taking calls. Told her to go to my spa, but Noooooo ;p I like that they play chill music and have a tiny tabletop waterfall.

Rozberry that is great info :) I can't add much but I'd just like to say, it might hurt the first time but don't let it put you off. The more you go, the easier it gets :) because the roots haven't been allowed to anchor in place properly. I rarely shave now, waxing is much better, once a month rather than twice a week! Legs, underarms and bikini. Its great!

I've been getting Brazilian waxes foreeeeever lol Baby oil helps to get rid of the stickiness. Rozberry gave great advice! Take some ibuprofen beforehand to help with inflammation and pain. And speaking of pain, do you get your eyebrows waxed? It's the same concept just slightly more painful. But it doesn't last long...just like with your eyebrows. It might sting for a couple seconds but it's not bad.(:

Also, shaving is so bad. It causes a lot of irritation and razor bumps and ingrown hairs. Of course it varies for people but waxing is the best solution... other than staying natural of course. lol.

Yea I get my brows waxed so that's why I'm not scared of getting bikini waxes I really just wanna be prepared. And yea I shave and I can never get as close as I want to and of course the human pretzel I become in the shower isn't a turn on lol.

Agreed...your body gets used to the waxing more and more. I get a Brazilian now like it's nothing. Maintaining is so much easier..as the other ladies said, it's healthier as well. You know it's time to schedule your next appointment when the removed hair has returned and is the length of a grain if rice. Wax needs something to hold on to! ;p.

You girls seem experienced with this so how long do you think a bikini wax will last before you have to go and have it redone?

I got a Brazilian wax and lovedddd it! It did hurt a lot, and my pain tolerance is pretty moderate(one tattoo, 3 piercings besides my 4 ear piercings)
It's uncomfortable but so worth it
Just make sure you go to a relaxing friendly and clean place.
Good luck!

Usually appointments are scheduled every 4-6 week's depending on how fast your hair grows. I usually get mine at 4 weeks...sometimes 5...but the shorter the hairs the less painful (as long as the hairs are long enough to be waxed in the first place that is)
