Everyone is saying that coconut is really good for your hair so I thought I'd get some and try it. Where do you get it? And how long do you let it sit in your hair? :)

You can buy it at the grocery store in the same isle as the other oils... It's off to the side... If you can get the organic type go for that one! You can let it sit in your hair as long as you wish depending on how intense of a treatment you would like. 20 mins for a intense treatment, and wrap it in a plastic bag! For something quick use it in the shower as a regular conditioner! You can also use on dry hair to tame frizz and fly aways.

Try to get the virgin coconut oil it is more expensive but much more beneficial. I put it in my bath and soak my while boost I'm it and take 1Tbs. a day orally if has so many uses and benefits. It is also a natural energy booster. And if you have a headache mix a tsp. Of curry powder with it and that a natural headache soother.

Tara do you melt it before you eat it or do you just ingest it directly when it's hard?

Fayth-- the coconut oil melts almost as soon as you put it in your mouth.

Make sure to only use it about 1-2 times a month because it makes your hair extremely greasy and make sure that rub it on your hand before applying it rub it in your hand to make it melt kinda :)

Fayth I just take a spoonful and eat it as is. I couldn't do that at first because the consistency was weird but it makes a huge difference in flavor with the virgin cold pressed oil. You can also suited it in your coffee or I love to mix it into brown rice with some cocoa and a little sugar its delicious.

Coconut oil is magical but you MUST get the pure virgin kinds. if you get it from a local grocery where other oils are it isn't the same. if it isn't pure virgin it is no longer beneficial to your hair, skin or nails. I keep a huge tub and use it in recipes for hair mask, body scrubs, lip balms, lotion, cleaning supplies... so much! it's amazing!

I've just started using coconut oil and love it already! It's definitely worth it to splurge on the organic extra virgin kind so it maintains all of the nutrients that make it so great. I use it as a leave in conditioner, a moisturizer, a deep conditioner and to shave my legs. So great!

Are you suppose to wash it with shampoo after you rinse it out? I already have greasy hair and now it's even greasier!
