I've recently bought sun in but haven't used it, do the highlights stay permanent? and tell me more details please I would really appreciate it!:)

It acts like lemon juice and bleaches your hair when exposed to UV radiation. It is permanent until your hair grows out. It is very drying, so use a conditioning treatment. It also has a tendency to turn hair orange so do a test strand first before spraying it all over your head.

Thanks! that really helped :) and about how long do you have to wait out in the sun?

Emily W.
I'm not entirely sure on that one. I think it depends on your hair color/texture and how light you want to go.

DO NOT use it, majority of the time if you try to color or bleach over it, the color won't take.

My husband used it when we went out on the boat. he has dirty blonde hair, the results didn't last that long and the color wasn't really blonde more of a orangy blonde. I would just get highlights if I were you.

I have chocolatey hair. Not one single blonde highligt to be found. After a particularly zealous application at the beach in 2003, I went full-on pumpkin hued orange which lasted approximately forever and only my very merciful colorist and a drastic bob cut could fix. Dark haired people should be wary...can't speak for the blondes though!

My natural hair color is light brown and dirty blonde. I used sun in last summer and it worked great, my hair turned lighter. I then dyed my bangs a reddish color and it worked fine.

You don't need to sit in the sun...it is heat reactive. you can spray it in and dry your hair with a hot setting on a hair dryer. as others have said though its quite drying so make sure to deep condition :) xox
