I suffer from this aswell, I use a homemade lip scrub 3parts honey, 1 part olive oil, as much or as little orange extract you like (freshly squeezed will do to) and sugar! apply at night using your forth finger (the 1 next to your pinky, it has a soft touch so you don't over scrub) just rinse the sugar off with a few dabs of water an leave the balm thats left to work over night! On the go I use a vitamin e balm with beeswax!

I've tried so many lip balms... The ones that work best for me are blistex the medicated kind in the blue pot, and the eos lip balms are also hydrating but I have to apply it frequently through out the day. I'm afraid I have yet to find a lip balm I DON't have to apply frequently for results. It seems like some of us can't do a thing about constant dry lips but eliviate it for a short period of time. I even exfoliate my lips.

I have this problem too and cannot live without lip balm or Chapstick! Dry lips are a sign of dehydration, which most of us don't drink nearly enough water as we should (I know I don't!) and are chronically dehydrated. So that being said, up your water intake! Also I believe using a lip balm with wax can be more drying, which is why I stopped using Burt's bees. I use a random lip balm with SPF 15 to protect my lips. One thing I hear works well is Fresh brands brown sugar lip scrub, I've only sampled it once but it smells amazing and left my lips soo soft. Hope this helps!! Drink up that water ;)

Vaseline is a mineral oil that sits on a surface but doesn't actually do anything. The same way when your lips are sore and you lick them, although for the moment they feel better once they're dry they become sore again. In the same way once the Vaseline is gone your lips aren't any better so look for a product that doesn't contain mineral oil in order for the moisture to penetrate the lips.

This is a bit crazy but I've using vaseline coco butter moisturiser lotion for my lips it works really great because I have sensitive lip and my lips is super moisture and pink. I also save my money by buying a big lotion rather then buying a small lip balms..:))

I've heard that some lip balms have ingredients that actually dry out your lips after a while so it makes you need more, therefore buying more of the product. I'm not entirely sure if it's true but I was like you using lip balm at least 5 times a day but I told myself to just drink water when I felt like I needed to put lip balm on. I also used paw paw cream which is an Australian product so I'm not sure if you can get it out of Australia but I'm pretty sure Vaseline is similar?
