So I've spend a very long time and loads of money to get my hair this colour. My hair has previously been black, brown, dark red and dark blonde therefor there has been a lot of build up on my hair over the years. (My hair was a lot longer than this before yesterday) I'll bullet point
• used xxl live semi-permanent hair dye (bright red)
• went to hair dressers because I wasn't bright enough (£80) :O to get it bleached, full head of colour, cut, blow dry and straighten.
• she convinced me that I didn't need it bleaching and I didn't get the colour I wanted, AT ALL. Pretty much the same colour that I walked in with. (brown with red TINT) still £80 so she ripped me off!
• bought another xxl live semi-permanent, hardly any change
• bought bleaching kit myself and got an adult with experience to do it, NOTHING happened
• bought colourb4hair stripper, took it to a ginger/blonde colour.
• bought two Direction pots, poppy red, NOTHING happened because hair had so much chemicals on from colourb4
• bought two xxl live semi-permanent again, went bright but no way near as bright as it is now!!
• got hair done yesterday by a mobile hairdresser, bleached, full head of colour (6.6) cut blow dry, straighten for £40
PERFECT!! Yayyyyyy
But now, I'm so scared of it running and fading too quickly as also I go swimming every Tuesday and I've heard about putting conditioner on and tying it up an leaving it in whilst swimming, then wash out with cold water. Also, could use a swimming cap but I don't think it covers all of your hair or keeps it all dry.
Does anybody recommend shampoos, conditioners, hair care products, tips, advise for red hair? Anything will help. Thank you soooo much
X

You'll definitely want sulfate free products. go as long as you can between washes. hairsprays and sun exposure will fade the color faster so be cautious.
also, the color looks amazing! glad you finally got the color you wanted!

Sulfate free doesn't always help because I used a sulfate free shampoo and my hair color ran more then with regular shampoo.

Wash your hair with cranberry juice every few days , it kind off a temporary die I suppose I've not personally tried it but I've heard it works :) I used to have my hair that colour and I loved it, but it was just too hard to keep!! Goodluck:) xx
