All my life I had oily skin, so I switch my skin care to Josie Maran. I use the cleansing oil, argan oil at night and the moisturizer with SPF during the day. At night I also use my clarisonic with occasionally neutrogena oil free face wash cause I also get a breakouts. Now I have dry patches and its noticeable when I put makeup on. I have use a thicker moisturizer only in the driest areas at night but its not working. I also have a very oily t-zone. I have always used primer, foundation powder and setting spray. Can't use powder anymore because it accentuates the dryness. I have tried numerous thing but no such luck. What do you guys recommend.

Definitely exfoliate at least 3 times a week, use an oil control primer and only use harsher acne products once every other day or every few days at least until your skin gets used to them. I have found thick moisturizers don't work, try a light one like CeraVe that has very good moisturizing ingredients but soaks in and absorbs well, I think thicker ones sometimes just sit there and don't always get through. but make sure you are exfoliating otherwise whstever moisturizer you use is not going to absorb and won't work.

An enzyme mask will dissolve all that dead skin thats is sluffing off. I promise you it will not hurt anyway. They are really effective, and great for all skin types. Just be sure its an "enzyme" mask. You can find them almost anywhere and a huge range, from low to high pricing. Hope your skin gets better!!

Maria it is no suprise that different skins need different care. With your breakouts and problem areas it sounds like your skin may be very sensitive. I just want to express just my own experience. I was always under the impression that always washing and exfoliating could just make my skin better. I was wrong in my case, and sounded a lot like yours. I was making my skin worse. It was tough for me, but, someone told me that I was over working and under nourishing my skin by all the things I was doing all the time to feel clean. Since I have stopped abusing my face it is 98% on the rebound. Exfoliation in my case was causing the most damage. I too would exfoliate 3-4 times a week, use my clairsonic 2 times a day and sometime I would throw in an extra wash. All in one day! Well since I have started with a regimen of 2 exfoliations (tops) a week, I light wash in the morning with just cleanser, toner and a pretty rich moistuizer, and at night I will use my clairsonic and moisture. Everyone is different, this is just a suggestion to you to try or not. Be kind to your skin.

I had the same skin and everything I tried would either make me have dry patches or make me oilier in areas. When buying some mascara from Clinique I was asked if I wanted to have a skin consultation. Best thing I ever did, bought the travel size three step system and went back to discuss it 2 weeks later. The compliments I had about how clear and lovely my skin was after I started using it was crazy. Most people thought I'd started using foundation every day (lazy bones, I only wear mascara unless going out for the night) I still get the odd breakout but my skin is really balanced now. Can definitely recommend
