I recently went to Mac to get a foundation color match and they told me I was an NC42, what does this stand for?

This Nc and Nw refers to your undertone...NC means neutral cool for pink and golden undertones,NW means neutral warm for olive and warm undertones..But its mostly personal preference because you may or may not like your match
