How much water should you squeeze out of the sponge before use? Should there be a tiny amount of water still in the sponge when applying foundation or should there be no water left to squeeze out?

As long as its damp and not.soaking wet its ok.

As soon as the sponge puffs up squeeze all the water out so that it leaves it damp.
