I don't have anyone to help me dye my hair anymore. Currently, it's blonde with black underneath and about 3" of brown roots. Money being a bit tight, I was thinking about buying a box kit or that shampoo that'll dye it. Will doing this make it work 10x worse?

The black would be very simple to do, the blonde may be more difficult. you may have trouble toning it.

Any tips? I want to stay blonde I'm just afraid to ruin it doing the cheaper method than what I usually do.

I wouldnt use an box products. I would go to sallys beauty supply, and get stuff there. the dye is about the same or cheaper than the price of a box dye and much better quality. as for the blonde, I'm not really sure. I think you have to bleach and tone? and the toning depends on how light your blonde is? I've heard shampoo works well for toning, or using a semi perm purple or blue very watered down and not left on long. don't take my word for that part, I've never kept a blonde, only bleached to do crazy colors. so I'm not very experienced. I would deff research more outside of beautylish about the blonde. good luck! :}

Definitely stop by Sally's Beauty Supply and talk to one of the girls there and have them recommend you a few products to help you color your hair. Stay away from box dye because it is a metallic color so it is VERY hard to strip out of hair just an FYI.

Letting the dark roots grow would make it look natural ombr?.

I usually do go to Sally's, I've never used any other product. I've just never dyed my hair by myself. I usually had a friend help if I was doing my full head.
