When I curl my hair I get volume and beautiful curls, but goes flat within one hour :( what should I do with my curling routine?

Are you using hairspray? cause with out it your hair will go flat in like, twenty minutes.

That's what I do now. Should I be using any products on my hair before blow drying or letting it air dry?

There are a few things you can do. 1.) get layers. the top curls stick out on the top of your head and besides, shorter hair stays curled longer. less weight=more curl. 2.) use more hairspray than you have been. I suggest garnier volume booster. it has a nice smell and it doesn't make your hair feel like glue. oh and spray it with your head pointed at the floor, count to 20, stand up straight and spray a little more. 3.) ever heard of the theory that if you pull your hair straight up before you curl it (instead of to the side) that it will help your hair stay voluminous? Just think about it. if your roots are being pulled upward before you curl the strand, they're going to be stuck that way after the heat. I don't know, I feel like it works for me. hope I helped a little.

You should buy a wand

Agree with the wand suggestion. Those curls last super long, I think because they get so much hotter.

Veronica, I got the Cortex 4 in 1 and it goes up to 420 degrees. You probably don't need 4 different sizes, only the largest one, but don't think they sell just the large one. Don't get just any wand though, make sure you get one that has an adjustable thermostat and that it goes up to 430 because I believe that the high heat is the reason it curls the hair and holds it so well. I'm a pro, and have only used mine a few times so far, but let me tell you it is a whole new ballgame with these. I usually use a Babyliss 1.25" ceramic iron for the look you're going for and I haven't been able to achieve that look yet with even the largest wand. It's a different look, it's more of a curl "through the lengths", and less on the ends look so is less bouncy imo. I probably just need to work with it more to get that softer GiselleB look that I love, but the curls freaking HOLD like nobodies business!
