First off a hair cut is important. I suggest something tough but flattering. If he's a rocker then get this boy some leather! Neautral colors would be best for him to wear. But he need to be himself to! Since you are his friend you know what would work for him better then me.

I like Hannah's idea about changing his clothes too. You mentioned he likes heavy metal well what about plain black tees? Not too baggy & obviously not too tight. Something that can still be heavy metal but not so skull heavy or out there. My boyfriend loves all types of music (minus metal) & wears plain black tees. This is sort of an older picture he's gained more muscle (; anyway enough bragging about my love. Goodluck! Xoxo.
