Gel Polish Over Regular Polish?

Can you use a gel topcoat over regular polish? Has anyone ever tried it? I got the idea with Sally Hanson strips its the same strips with gel polish on top
I don't like how transparent gel polish colors are too thin and runny takes 4 coats and still streaky!!

Yes you can but the nail polish has to be absolutely dry... if its even slightly still wet/tacky the gel will turn it to mush.. like 6hrs dried.

As Lindsay said, you can but make sure it's very dry. I made the mistake of thinking it was dry and ended up with the gel sliding off in my shoes! If you think it's dry, still wait a few hours to be absolutely sure

Yeah I ended up with lint all over my nails after trying out a gel topcoat for the first time.

You have to wipe the gel top coat with alcohol after you cure it.

Thanks I'm going to try it. Gel polish takes too much to get the true color
