Gentle soap and olive oil, baby shampoo and conditioner, or you can buy brush cleaner from a store :)

Use some dishwashing soap and olive oil. Use warm water and try not to destroy the bristles by scrubbing the soap into it. Let them air dry overnight.

One cup of water
One tablespoon of white vinegar
One tablespoon of dishwashing soap (Olay Hand Renewal dish soap is the best because it's so gentle)
That's what I use, and it actually helps THOROUGHLY clean and disinfect your brushes. And they feel so soft afterwards. :)
I did a post about it on my blog forever ago.

Mix dish soap and olive oil and just dip brush into mixture and scrub on your hands and rinse and let dry over night.
