When I was in high school I used to use it on my hair and then go in the sun, it will lighten it a bit but not tons and will damage your hair. I agree with Aleighnna, purple shampoo won't lighten your hair esp if its not blonde. if you still really want to use BP on your hair than dip a toothbrush in it and then apply to hair like your doing highlights then go in the sun all day then wash out.

Me also when I was in highschool..I would put peroxide sleep on it and my hair did go a lot lighter...my hair was also virgin so it didn't get damaged..but everyone is diffrent so you have to be careful..it may dry your hair up.

Purple shampoo is meant for once a month use. Constant use will result in grey tones and may turn your hair grey looking depending on your colour. Peroxide is a form of bleach which will undoubtedly lighten your hair as its the main ingredient in chemical highlights which hairdressers apply. I wouldn't suggest home colouring if its your first time however. John Frieda does a gentle summer hair lightening spray with mild levels of peroxide for a measured and gradual effect. Either that or use a lightening natural sulphate free shampoo for blonde hair with lemon in. Sulphates strip colour so will make blonde hair brassy or dark hair dull. Purple shampoo is very harsh and damaging. Using it regularly is a bad idea and the effects are irreversible. From a blonde girl who knows from experience.

I would just go to a salon & have a professional lighten your hair.

Last year I lightened my hair a lot by using peroxide then a lot of heat (hair dyers, curlers etc.)
But that's with blonde hair

Using a mixture of honey and conditioner with an added cap full of peroxide will do the trick! It's completely natural and WON't damage your hair at all. But if you have dark hair you might have to do it more than once. It's a process :)
