I usually only use mascara and lipstick, but I want to know what is good for beginners to use (just the basic stuff) and which brand of this item you like? I usually shop at sephora and mac.

Start out with a tinted mosturizer like mac mosturie tint and a good powder for your face.

Start with a powder foundation (mac studio fix foundation powder), a nice everyday sheer tone blush (my fav is pink swoon from mac ;), eyeliner, and mascara. Thats all I do.

Some great basics are Tarte's Amazonian Clay Tinted Moisturizer, Loreal's infallible gel liner (it has a gold lid), and either blush (mac, tarte, wet n wild, nars, physician's formula) or a countour color (benefit's Hoola) depending on if you want color or something to define your face.

Tarte blush is killer! and so is their clay foundation and primer. if you want a good starter eye pallette check out the lorac pro palette, it has an awesome primer with it! if you wanna do drugstore check out the maybelline eye tattoos and the rocket mascara. and check out the Revlon lip stains and balms they are awesome and easy to put on!

Not sure if this palette is still available but Nyx Butt Naked Eyes is a great cheaper alternative to Urban Decays naked palette. It comes with a bunch of eyeshadows, 4 blushes, a bronzer, and 2 highlighters. It is perfect for a starter set!
