I have naturally mocha brown hair but I've been wanting to do the ombré for over a year and a half now. I want it to have a real contrast and go to a honey color then to blonde at my tips. My hair dresser told me its very damaging to my dark hair and I shouldn't do it if I want to keep my length. Opinions? And from people have had it also.

But is it worth the damage?

I don't think it's worth the damage. I've know people whose done it and their hair fell out. I mean I'm not saying that's what's going to happen but if you want you hair to have split ends and be shorter ( if you don't mind) then I think it would be pretty on you. It's really your choice

Okay thanks! Yeah it'll be something I have to think about it. Idk if I could ever cut my hair short.

Think more about the positives about going ombré instead of thinking about the bad stuff. Who knows! I bet if you did it you'd end up loving it!

Personally I love ombré hair but my sister had it she liked the look of it just because her hair had never had any treat colour felt quite corse but I love it I think you would suit you but it does damage your hair like any bleach :)

It would look good, and you would be pretty with shorter hair also so it's really up to you.

Change is good and hair always grows back if you did feel you should cut it afterwards but if you maintain a good hair routine to maintain its health; damage will be less than if you didn't. plus ask for health treatments/ product options during your consultation. you can always ask for the best route to take and for preventing damage as much as possible. :) so I'd say go for it, you'd look stunning. :) best of luck.

I have brown hair like you and I have ombré it did not really damage my hair but I had to put more conditioner and serum :) I've used the Loreal wild ombre kit they have two types: preference and feria and I think feria is more damaging I used preference it comes with a little brush and you just mix the powder with the liquid in the bottle and you load it on to the brush and you brush it on leave for 30-45 min. then wash your hair and use the special shampoo which comes in the kit! Simple and really pretty.
