Retail experience! and at least a certification for makeup that is always a plus! Mac and Benefit both want you to sell sell sell so sales experience is a big part for what they look for, and of course a passion for makeup and people!

MAC is tough because you will have to do whatever makeup look they tell you in front of trainers so it can be nerve racking. Its doable without a certificate. You just have to show your passion and be confident and fun! Retail sales experience is always a plus! You will constantly be doing makeup for MAC as well so be ready for that. I don't know much about Benefit.
